Today I am sharing another yummy{healthy, plant-based, dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar-free} dessert that I just recently experimented with!
These are so delicious to bite into. I love how dense they are. So much goodness packed into one tiny bite! They are much richer than my black-bean brownies. You definitely get more of a chocolate flavor with these, because you don't have the black beans masking it.
They are perfect to munch on as an afternoon "pick-me-up" snack when you need a little boost of energy or they are perfect for satiating that sweet tooth after dinner!
They also pair well with honey and pumpkin seeds or walnuts!

Ingredients
**1 tbsp. of natural-sweetener (I use honey, but agave or maple syrup would work find I'm sure).
** 1/2 tbsp. of cacao
**1-2 tbsp of almond flour or nut butter(I use my homemade almond butter, but if you want a more "nutty" flavor I would suggest peanut butter).
**1/2 cup of dates
**1/2 cup of walnuts (or I'm sure any nut of your choice would work).
**(optional) --> If you want them to taste like Almond Joy chocolate bars, add in a few pinches of unsweetened, organic coconut flakes. Delish!
Process
**Soak dates in warm water for 20-30 minutes(this will make them easier to blend in food processor).
**While dates are soaking, put the rest of ingredients (cacao, almond flour if desired, walnuts, and sweetener) into mixing bowl.
**Once dates are done soaking, put them in food processor and blend them until a sticky ball forms or until it starts to form a clump.
**Dump the date "clump" into mixing bowl with other ingredients and mix them together with a spoon, blender, or as I find most effective in getting everything evenly mixed together, use your hands!
**Once you have everything mixed together, I always suggest tasting a pinch of your mix, just to make sure its as chocolaty & sweet as you like it. This way, you can go back and add anything you think you need to!
**Next, use a tablespoon to scoop up the mixture and then roll it in between your hands until a nice, round ball has formed. Repeat this until you are out of mixture!
**Place the Brownie Bites into a container and place them in the fridge(this is where I find that they keep best, but if you prefer them room temp., or want to freeze/defrost one at a time, go for it!).
As you will come to notice with my recipes, they are all very adaptable to your personal preference. You can always adjust the sweetest to your liking...you can adapt them however you'd like to, really!
Enjoy :) <3
Okay, these look really really good!!! And dates, walnuts and coconuts are high on my list of favorites!! I have to try them now!
