New Year's Resolution: Part 2 & Vegan Update (...am I going to continue?)

Ok, so a few posts ago, I talked about the first part of my New Year's Resolution (READING!) and promised a part two.

Second New Year's Resolution: Improve self-discipline with exercising.

I have never been a very athletic person. Sports are not something that I felt like I should be investing a lot of time in. I never played high school sports or anything like that (unless being on a youth group softball team in 8th grade counts? haha). BUT...one thing I have always done, is try to exercise on a regular basis.  I want to be in the best shape possible, so that I can in turn be the best wife, mother, and homemaker for God and my family! As you know, keeping up with kids and the demands of housework is no easy task.

This year, I am stepping it up a notch. Instead of only requiring myself to exercise a few times a week, I am aiming to include exercise in my daily schedule. So far, this resolution has gone well. Yes, it takes self-discipline. Sometimes I don't feel like  starting my exercise routines, but once I do, I am motivated to go beyond my daily goals.

**Repetition is a great friend when trying to form a new habit. I learned this from a book that I highly recommend, called Better Than Before, by Gretchen Rubin. This is a great book about building or breaking habits.

My exercise routine:
1. Walk and/or jog 2-3(+) miles a day.
2. Complete Ab exercises 3x a week (for health reasons, I only do these a few times a week, rather than everyday).

Additional comments that I want to add:

  • I use Leslie Sansone workouts! The level of difficulty is perfect for me..Plus! I can do them ANYtime of the day, in my pjs, while the baby is sleeping, while the baby is awake, while it's raining etc. I also like having a specific routine to follow.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Start living your best life! Don't wait and look back on your life, wishing you would've done this or you would've done that. There is no time like the present.

Have a lovely week!
